Why is my Fiat 250 & 500 VP1/VP2 radio locked down?
Following a breakdown or a disconnection of the car battery, the Fiat 250 & 500 VP1/VP2 radio will ask for a security code to become operational. It's a standard anti-theft protection.

How to retrieve the serial number of my Fiat 250 & 500 VP1/VP2 radio?
First of all, you should find the serial number of your car radio to unlock it using our calculator.
You can read the serial number from the metal plate attached to the back or even on one of your car radio sides.
Removing the radio from the dashboard is fairly easy using a set of car audio release keys which you can buy from a local car accessories shop or Amazon.
- You will find four small holes on the front left and right of the radio, insert the radio release keys into the slots until they are in place (you should feel a click).
- Once the radio release keys are in pull the radio out.
- Please note that the radio will have the power adapter and antenna plugged in so you may have to unplug them to see the serial number.
- On most models of Fiat VP1 and VP2, the serial number starts with A2C capital letters followed by 16 digits (you only need those last four digits).
